It would be great if the comparison was able to be exported to excel. This would allow the User to easily sort by filters

Hi Nick - thanks for contacting us with the feature request. There have been some good improvements made in the Project & Tasks module in last couple of months. One of them is that you have the ability to add project fields and sort. And also you can export the data. I believe this what you're looking for.
